New Appointments

Board Chairperson re-appointed His Excellency President Mwai Kibaki has re-appointed Mrs. Margaret Wanjohi as the Chairperson of the KNH Board of Management for a period of three (3) years with effect from 20th July, 2010. The appointment was announced in a Gazette Notice No. 8418 of 23rd July, 2010.Mrs. Wanjohi was first appointed on 18th December 2006.  The Board under the her stewardship successfully initiated and oversaw the completion of several major projects that have changed the face and service delivery in the hospital.� Details...



Minister appoints new Board Members The Minister for Medical Services Hon. Prof. Peter Anyang’ Nyong’o has appointed new members to the KNH Board of Management. The new members are Lawrence Oginga Omire, Ibrahim Mohamed Abdille, Mary Wambui Mungai, Jackson Koitumet Mpano, and Achola O. Pala. The appointments were published in the Kenya Gazette dated 9th February 2010 and take effect from 26th January 2010.The outgoing Board Members include Mr. Yuda Komora, Muthusi Kitonga, Ruth Mumo, Maxwel Magoma, and Prof. Zipporah Ngumi.We take this opportunity to welcome the new Board Members and wish them well in their new appointments.� Details...

Donation for Cancer Daycare Centre On Monday 12th July 2010,  Kenya Institute of Management (KIM) donated assorted items to Oncology ward GFC worth KES. 261,000. The donation was presented to the hospital by KIM’s Director of School of Management Ms. Leah Munyao accompanied by the Head of Public Relations Mr. Edwin Gichanga and the Head of Corporate Social Responsibility Ms. Diana Kubebea. The donation included ward beds, mattresses, pillows, bedside lockers, drip stands, medicine trolleys, stepstools, examination couches and medical books. While receiving the donation, The KNH CEO Dr. Jotham Micheni appreciated the kind donation by the Kenya Institute of Management. He noted that the donation would facilitate opening of the cancer day care centre that was previously closed due to lack of necessary facilities. “With the day care centre now open, patients especially those who come from out of Nairobi would be able to receive their medication in a comfortable and convenient environment” he said. Ms.  Munyao added that KIM would explore opportunities to a long standing partnership to support and give hope to cancer patients.� Details...
